GSLF’s Atal Tinkering Labs are a significant contribution towards achieving SDG 4. These are low cost scalable labs built to foster curiosity, creativity, and imagination in young minds; and inculcate skills such as design mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical computing etc.

In addition to this we also helped students during COVID times to continue their education through digital platforms. We have operated and established 60 Atal Tinkering Labs till now. In our education initiatives we have positively impacted more than 10000 students across India.

We are planning to expand Tinkering Labs and to enter into other educational initiatives very soon

For contributing towards SDG 5, GSLF works at two levels. As GSLF’s core expertise is in the electronics and manufacturing support areas, where the ratio of the girls specially in the field jobs is very minimal, we are specially focussed in our efforts to increase this number every year in our livelihood engagements across India and also increase the reach out to Girls in our Educational initiatives. Secondly, we are working towards balancing the gender ratio within the organisation as well. Organisational policies are also aligned and suited to ensure a better work environment for both the genders.

Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all

Our livelihood programs are directly contributing to achievement of SDG 8. In our livelihood programs, we ensure more than 80 percent placements in our courses and we have enabled many students to become entrepreneurs as well. Till now more than 20,000 youth have been trained at various levels in different trades and placed with reputed companies. More than 10 candidates are running their own enterprise, generating employment for others. And more than 8000 participants have been trained on life skills as well, which is an essential pre-requisite for career growth.

ITI Transformation program is a large-scale impact program contributing towards SDG 8. We work in 5 Government ITIs in Lucknow and 4 in Chennai helping them to improve their performance parameters through introduction of future skills, training of their trainers, Skill Rath programs etc. Till now more than 8000+ students have got exposure to future skills and 500+ trainers have been trained on new industry trends under this initiative.
