Sanjay is a resident of the rural region of Navalur who completed his 10th standard education. After the passing of his parents, he was left alone to live with his father's younger brother. Despite having a sister and brother, he was abandoned by them. He struggled with loneliness and was unable to start a conversation with others due to his dark past.
Based on a friend's advice, Sanjay enrolled in HCLF Yuvakendra Chennai for training as a Service Technician in Home Appliances, such as ACs, fridges, washing machines, ovens, and RO systems, along with soft skills. The Grey Sim Learnings Foundation offered Sanjay the opportunity to participate in their entrepreneurship development program, where he learned how to start his own service center and overcome the challenges of running a business. As a result, Sanjay was able to open an authorized service center for multiple brands.
After completing his training, Sanjay gave his final assessment and was interviewed by Haier. He was selected and is now working as a Technician Engineer, earning a salary of 10,000/- per month. Sanjay's late parents would be proud of his progress and success.
Grey Sim Learnings Foundation is a vocational skills company that helps young people achieve sustainable livelihoods by providing relevant counseling, skills, and support systems. Each year, the company trains around 20,000 people at its 30 training centers across India, with a focus on electronics, telecom, renewable energy, and new-age skills. Despite having both successes and failures, the company continues to work towards reimagining vocational training for underserved communities and supporting the nation's demographic dividend. Their commitment, along with the belief of their partners, has made this possible."
Sanjay said, "I always wondered why life was unfair to me and couldn't overcome my hardships. But I tried my best and found hope here. I gained friends like family and my trainers taught me in a caring and friendly way. Everyone here helped me come out of my shell, and I am very grateful to the Grey Sim Learnings Foundation and HCLF for providing this course. I now work with a good salary and am an independent person who is doing well."
